About the Journal

Meat Sciences and Veterinary Public Health (MSVPH) (ISSN: 2513-9282) is a peer reviewed, online and quarterly journal published by the Dairy Science Park, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, the University of Agriculture, Peshawar, Pakistan. The journal was launched as a biennial series of international confernces and industrial exhibitions held duirng November 20112013 and 2015 at Peshawar, Pakistan and during 2017 at Konya, Turkey. The workshop recommendations have been focusing on promotion of the commercial research culture through the strong venture of university-industry tag, boosting the economic development by verge of industrial research output and creating an entrepreneurial community to give students the experience of learning through mutual support, a process critical for successful entrepreneurship, food safety and food security.

This journal has been launched to get research and academic support to the Park through science-industry liaison and in-depth analysis of the scientific findings constantly generated and their business applications through prototype entrepreneurship models and replication in the field, utilizing the indigenous resources for livelihood support of the people. Scope of the journal includes meat animals breeding, reproduction, physiology, nutrition, animal and veterinary public health, quality control, meat and dairy technology, entrepreneurship & marketing, quality control, HACCP, halal certification, Islamic investment, environment, climate change, legislation and policy matters. Authors are invited to submit their work falling within the scope of the journal, for publication through a speedy review process.

Achievements of Dairy Science Park and Motivations for MSVPH

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chamber of Commerce and Industries has constituted a Standing Committee on Livestock, and the Minister for Agriculture, KP, inaugurated a Livestock Business Facilitation Desk. The Sandia Labs USA is considering an MoU for launching a Biorisk Management Initiative. The Minister for Local Government, Election and Rural Development KP has allocated funds for establishing a model slaughterhouse and a Meat Technology Center at Peshawar. Also, project proposal for Dairy Science Park Board and KP DSP Act 2015 have been agreed by the provincial government of KP Pakistan.
