The Purpose of Life is a compilation of the experiences and stories of the life of Prof Dr Muhammad Subhan Qureshi, PhD (Theriogenology) narrated by his son Engr Irfan ul Haq Qureshi. Prof Qureshi is a biologist from district Bannu of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, living in Peshawar. He got his earlier education from his hometown Bannu and left for his higher studies at the University of Veterinary Sciences, Lahore and then University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. He served the provincial livestock department for 22 years and then joined the University of Agriculture Peshawar for 16 years till his retirement from government service.
The Purpose of Life covers the The Universe and the Earth , Origin of Life and the Human Being, The Purpose of Creation, A Brief History of Humankind – Sapiens, The Rise and Fall of Civilizations, The sustainable development approach, My Place in the Universe, My Earlier Life, Motto Goals and Struggle, Establishment of the Dairy Science Park, The Purpose of Our life and References. During his active public service he worked in a non-traditional manner and tried to justify his presence as an professional and senior executive of the livestock sector. He came up with the idea of academia-industry linkages through a biennial series of international conferences and industrial exhibitions, biorisk management, quality control and technical support to the emerging entrepreneurs across the livestock value chain and international consultancy with the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the FAO and ITC of the United Nations.
Establishing livestock technoparks was suggested at Peshawar and Quetta as autonomous bodies with shared authority and responsibility of public and private sector organizations for development of a network of entrepreneurship models. Generation of exportable biotech and food surpluses was the final target of such parks. Dr Abdul Rahman Ilyas, Advisor to President, Academy for Scientific Research and Technology, Government of Egypt, desired establishing Dairy Science Cairo (DSPC), a joint project of (ASRT) and Dairy Science Park Peshawar Pakistan. He is the co-founder of DSP alongwith Prof M Subhan Qureshi. Dr Amr Faroukh Abdelkhalik Vice President and Mahmoud Sakr President ASRT have endorsed the proposal.
