ICALS 2012 Konya: On invitation of Dr Mithat Direct, Department of Agriculutural Economics, Selcuk University, Konya, Turkey, Prof M Subhan Qureshi visited Turkiey on Sept 6-16, 2012; presented a paper and chaired session 2 of the International Conference on Applied Life Sciences. Discussed meat export from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the scientists at Selcuk University and industry people. The visit was sponsored by HEC.
DSP 2013 Peshawar: Dr Mithat was invited by Prof Qureshi to attend the Second International Conference and Exhibition on Dairy Science Park on Nov 18-20, 2013 which was gratefully accepted. Dr Mithat was welcomed by Pakistani academia, students, government representatives and the private sector and MoUs were signed with the University of Agriculture Peshawar, UVAS Lahore and UA Faisalabad. The undergraduate and postgraduate students enjoyed his company and got motivated to build their future career. A business collaborative meeting was held among the stakeholders from Turkey and Pakistan.
DSP 2017 Konya: The 4th International Conference and Industrial Exhibition on Dairy Science Park was held on November 1st to 5th, 2017 at Selçuk University- Konya, Turkey. The Conference was organized jointly by the Mayor Konya Municipality, Konya Turkey, Selcuk University Konya, Konya Teknokent, Dairy Science Park Society Peshawar, Women University Mardan, University of Agriculture Peshawar, Baluchistan University Quetta and Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Prof M Subhan organized the Conference as Chief Patron DSP and Dr Mithat Direk assisted as Turkish counterpart.
The event was continuation of the series held during November 2011, 2013 and 2015 at Peshawar, Pakistan. The three conferences focused on rehabilitation of the post-flood Dairy Sector; Halal meat export potential of the Region and entrepreneurship-based hygienic food production respectively. The fourth event of the series was held with the theme “Achieving Food Security through Entrepreneurship Development and Biorisk Management (BRM)”.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Special Assistant to Chief Minister, Arif Yousaf said, “The scientists in Pakistan and Turkey will work to together to organize such conferences and high level concultation for establshment of technology centers in the future. He was addressing the Fourth International Conference and Industrial Exhibition on Dairy Science Park in Konya, Turkey. I would like to thank especially Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Selçuk University for organizing the conference. The conference has attracted participation from 20 countries, inluding Turkey, Pakistan, Australia, China, Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, Mongolia, Nigeria, Sudan, Bosnia, Gambia, etc. Mr Arif Yousaf assured support of the Government of Pakistan to suppor TechnoPark Mardan and TechnoPark Quetta, for generating enterprenureship and brining quality standards in the food value chain in the two provinces.

MoU Signing: An MoU signing ceremony was held at Pakistan Agriculutral Council Islamabad between Selcuk University Konya and Dairy Science Park. Dairy Science Park delegation called on Chairman Pakistan Agriculture Research Council Headquaters Islamabad during MoU signing between Dairy Science Park Peshawar and Konya Teknokent Turkey.
The delegates of the Fourth International Conferee and Industrial Exhibition on Dairy Science Park visited Konya Teknokent on third day of the conference, under supervision of Dr Mithat Direk, Conference Chair, Faculty of Agricultureal Economics, Selcuk University, Konya, Turkey. The delegates, more than fifty from Pakistan including others from various countries, visited Konya Teknokent on 3 November, were excited to know about the achievements made at the Teknokent. We were given a presentation by Mr Mehmet. It was recommended that a TechnoPark will be established at Mardan (TPM), with leading role of Women University Mardan, Dairy Science Park, KP Chamber of Commerce and Industries and SDGs Task Force. Similar TechnoPark will be established at Quetta (TPQ), which has already been agreed by BRSP, BCCI, SMEDA, BU, BUITMS and SBK WU. Mission of the two TechnoParks will be utilization of indigenous human and natural resources for welfare of the people through academia – industry linkage, with focus on entrepreneurship development and hygienic food production for local consumption and export. It was recommended that the autonomous TechnoPark to be registered as a Society, will be established at Mardan (TPM) and Swat (TPS), with leading role of Women University Mardan/University of Swat, Dairy Science Park, KP Chamber of Commerce and Industries/SMEDA and Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Similar TechnoPark will be established at Quetta (TPQ), which has already been agreed by BRSP, BCCI, SMEDA, BU, BUITMS and SBK WU and endorsed by Governor Balochistan.
Livestock Technopark Peshawar and Gomal Technopark were proposed under DSP-FAO-UN Consultancy while Livestock Technopark Quetta under DSP-ITC-UN Consultancy. DSP Cairo was proposed under DSP-ASRT Consultation Process.
DSP 2023 Bahawalpur: DSP2023 was inaugurated by Prof Naveed Akhtar, Pro-Vice Chancellor IUB. Vice Chancellor IUB Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob supported the event as Chief Patron. Prof M Subhan Qureshi, Conference Chair; Mr Muhammad Anwar Kamal Saleem Hashmi, Co-Chair; Dean FVAS IUB, Prof Muhammad Khalid Mansoor Khalid, Secretary General; Prof Illahi Bakhsh Marghazani, Secretary Technical and Dr Muhamad Shahzad, Secretary Coordination, played their major roles in organising the event. Ijaz Mehood Gorsi, DG LDD South Punjab participated in the session in addition to delegates from various public and private sector organisations of the country and abroad.
The Chief Guest welcomed the delegates, especially Dr Mithat Direk from Selcuk University. Camel milk was appreciated as a curative agent for various public health disorders. The first camel was purchased by pharmacy faculty during 2013 followed by establishment of Camel House by FVAS, IUB. The VC has provided all the required facilities to the FVAS for growth of the faculty focused at improvement in animal production.
ICSAP 2025 Peshawar: Dr Mithat Direk participated in the Second International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture in Pakistan 2025 at Peshawar on June 23 to 24 organized by Pakistan Media Development Foundation.
Alhamdulillah. MoU signed between DSP and ARC for establishing DSP Egypt:
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Agricultural Research Center (ARC), Giza, Egypt, represented by the President ARC, Prof Dr Adel Abdel Azim and Advisor to President, Dr Abdur Rahman Ilyas; and Dairy Science Park (DSP) was represented by Dr Mithat Direk, Focal Point DSP Turkey and Prof Dr Saber Mohamed Abd-Allah, Focal Point DSP Egypt Chapter. Prof M Subhan Qureshi, President DSP signed the MoU online.
The MoU was signed during the International Conference on Livestock Development and Food Security held at ARC Giza. Prof M Subhan Qureshi, President DSP was invited to present a paper on, “CREATING EGYPT DAIRY
SCIENCE PARK IMBIBING THE MODEL OF DSP PAKISTAN”. The paper was presented by Dr Mithat Direk, FP DSP, Turkey.
A delegation from Pakistan comprising Engr Zeeshan Saeed Shah, CEO SunSaviour Pakistan; Prof Abid Ali, Chairman Zoology Department, AWKUM, Mardan; and Prof Sher Bahadar Khan, Principal Vet College, AWKUM, Mardan; were provided an invitation letter by President ARC, Giza, with a provision of visa on arrival at Cairo Airport. However, the Immigation Authorieis at Riyadh Airoport could not get clearance from Cairo Airport, which was an unfortunate occuring , impeding the establishment of such an important international collaboration.
However, Dr Ilyas was smart enough to face the situation bravely and wisely, making possible the DSP presentation during the Conference and negotaing the deed with the ARC and DSP officials. Finally, the draft was finalized and signed today. Alhamdulillah. Prof Sarzamin Khan, CTO DSP, Prof Umer Sadique, CFO DSP and Mr Kamran Akram Khan Executive Secreary DSP were taken on board during the process.
Under the MoU, the Dairy Science Park Egypt (DSPE) will be established as an internationally recognized Centre of Excellence that integrates Science, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Public-Private Partnerships to accelerate Sustainable Livestock Development, Food Security, One Health, Biosecurity, Decent Employment, export substitution and Economic Growth in Egypt.
