Micro-credit facilitation explored for KP livestock entrepreneurs

A meeting was held at Royal Dairies, Industrial Estate Hayatabad Peshawar attended by representatives of Dairy Science Park (DSP), KP Livestock Farmers Association (LFWA), Royal Dairies (RD), GreenWend, BRAINS and NRSP Microfinance Bank Limited (NRSP-MB) for exploring Micro-credit facilitation for KP livestock entrepreneurs. Prof M Subhan Qureshi, Mr Kamran Akram Khan, Prof Fazli Rabi Khan, Engr Zeeshan, Engr Samia and Mr Naveed represented their respective organizations.

Dairy Science Park has already developed various entrepreneurship models through interaction between the University of Agriculture Peshawar and LFWA under DSP. Activities like quails farming, quails breeding and hatcheries, layers and broiler farming, dairy farming, calf fattening, feed processing, silage making, mini-slaughter houses, meat shops, chilled vehicles for meat and milk products delivery, solar water pumps and other innovations, laboratory diagnostic, quality control and veterinary clinical and associated services will be considered for funding under the collaborative activity between partners as an Islamic Entrepreneurship Development Model through an MoU.

A detailed deliberation will be held between the partners for finalizing and signing the MoU focused at generation of decent employment and exportable surpluses across the Food Value Chain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

  1. I’m thankful to KP Livestock Farmers Welfare Association, Royal Dairies, GreenWend and BRAINS for their participation in the preliminary meeting held today. I hope we would be able to mobilize the indigenous food resources for generating decent employment and exportable surpluses.
